It's finished, and they did a stellar job. The plants are guaranteed for one year--if any of them die or become diseased, they'll be replaced with an identical plant, or one of equal value if that variety or color is not available.

The soybeans are growing yellower by the day.
Autumn is always fall-colored, with a bit of snow.

Saw this when I took out some of J's trash a minute ago. Storm had just blown through.

This little guy was in the side yard a few minutes ago. I hope he has the sense to hide before an owl sees him.

of kitteny goodness. Have decided to call her April May June, since all the cats that I have named have three names, and they are all "people names." The reason for April May June: she was born in April (or so say all estimates), survived May, and I found her in June. Also--Autumn, the only other female animal in the house, has a seasonal name. I think it works.

and all is well. Kitty (and she is a she, fwiw) has tested negative for everything, and has been treated for a raging case of earmites. She is emaciated, and nuked a small can of food before demanding to be held while she slept it off. Not bad for a kitten that was spitting and hissing like a hellion when I first grabbed her.

This was my lap about 5 minutes ago.
Like I need this. Needless to say, I am at my vet's office making sure he or she is safe to take home.

Crappy iPhone photo of finished floor.
It's already dry enough to walk on in socks. Given its considerable age and poor condition, it was necessary to err on the side of tolerance, aesthetically speaking. Considering how worn it is from traffic and previous sanding, if I'd sanded away any more of it, there would've been nothing left to urethane. :P

Power has been out for a couple hours, now. I do adore my woodstove.
We got nearly 10" of snow here, although folks on the other side of the blue route got almost none. Weird.
Roads clear. Going out shortly.

Was awakened by an automated phonecall saying that the university is closed today. It seems that this particular swath of the state got a good bit more snow dumped on it than the rest, by a fair amount. Looks like about 6 inches, or so. Will venture forth and photograph when there is more light. As it is, I've stoked up the woodstove and added some dried fruit to the oatmeal I prepared in the crock pot last night. I'm going back to bed for a bit while it cooks for about another hour. When I get up--pictures.

Stopped at Verizon Wireless store and picked up a gadget to hold my iPhone in the car so I can get to it more easily when I want to fiddle with the musical selection, or whatnot. Decided on the universal phone mount kit, which comes with two separate bases that can hold the included phone cradle--one for the dash (sticks on with a 3M adhesive pad) and one that clips into an air vent.
If you buy one of these kits, do not think that the adhesive will be inadequate. On the contrary, be Very, Very Careful when you position it. There are no second chances with this baby. I am quite certain that even when my car is rotting away in a junk lot somewhere, the car mount will still be clinging to the dash as securely as it is today. (And if I ever do decide to part with it, I'll probably need a blowtorch and some kind of large power saw.). So far, loving it.
