Not safe, not pretty, never quiet, always thinking. Bitter earth-mother, clothes-horse hippie chick in bluejeans and heels who knows that the stars weren't hung in the sky, but nailed there. My mother never ate diamonds, so why do the faces on milk cartons talk to me?
I write, I think too much, I curse like a truckdriver and cry too often over things I'll never change. Inspired by music, pursued by guilt, past wedged so tightly inside my skull that trepanation seems appealing. Prone to overanalysis, defined by irrational flights of fancy, emotionally crippled and pathologically kind.
I'm currently completing my degree in English, substitute teaching (or at least I will be when the damned certification goes through), and periodically writing for a national and international animal rights organization. After spending over three years working as a librarian in a local historical society, I find it enjoyable (if not very profitable) to do genealogical research in the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas. I heat my house with a woodstove, cook too much too often, prefer the company of animals to that of large numbers of people, and have turned over my papasan chair to the dog. I also seem to spend a good bit of time in dusty archives and the rest trying to keep foot-out-of-mouth, where it seems to want to take up permanent residence.
Electronically huggable, kinky but not uptight about it, subby, poly, owned, far from politically correct (or polytically correct, for that matter) and reasonably tolerant, except when confronted by stupidity that fairly cries out to be mocked.
I'm an obsessive, picky reader. To that end (and to indulge my not-so-Inner Bitch) I maintain a Just Don't Do This list for fanfic writers here, and a followup, which can be found here.
Visit my Filters post if you're new here, but please be aware that I don't tend to add people to certain filters unless I know them personally, have met them IRL, or have known them online for long enough that I feel comfortable doing so. There are exceptions to the familiarity standard, of course, but if you don't have your DoB (or at least the year) on your journal page and I don't know you, you have *no chance* of seeing anything of a particularly adult nature.
HBB Disclaimer: If you are in the market for someone to sleep with you and your girlfriend, you are barking up the wrong tree. Ignore everything I wrote up there. I am, in point of fact, a reserved, humorless prig lacking in both charm and social graces. I do not cyber, I do not have an A/S/L for you and I do not care how long you and your who/whatever have been looking for a 3rd--I'm not her. If you're still determined to give it the old college try, I recommend a flak jacket as you will be used for sport.

Yes, I voted for Obama. That doesn't mean I think he'll save the world. The election's over, sir--it's time for some of that change you were talking about.

And just to clutter up the place...
